The 2023 Season was supposed to be the year that the Blue Jays finally put it all together. The young superstars were maturing, they obtained some needed pitching depth, and their stadium finally started to get some much needed upgrades. Although they did win 89 games and advance to the playoffs, they were unexpectedly passed in their division by the Baltimore Orioles, who only the year before, were a complete joke. During the season, 2022 pitching stud Alek Manoah fell apart but the rest of the pitching staff picked up the slack. Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr had merely okay years given their pedigrees. In the playoffs, the Jays were quickly swept in 2 games by the Minnesota Twins (3 to 1 in Game 1 and 2 to 0 in Game 2). Has the Jays window of opportunity closed? We will find out this year. For now, let's take a look back to last season. Batter up!
